Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya, offers a unique safari experience with its arid landscapes and distinctive wildlife species. The reserve covers 165 square kilometers and is bordered by the Ewaso Ng'iro River, a lifeline for wildlife in this semi-arid region.
The reserve is home to the "Samburu Special Five" - Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx - species not commonly found in southern Kenya. The Ewaso Ng'iro River attracts large numbers of elephants, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.
Samburu provides an authentic wilderness experience with fewer tourists than the more famous parks. The landscape is dramatic, with acacia woodlands, riverine forests, and open savannah punctuated by dramatic hills and kopjes.
