Tsavo National Parks, divided into Tsavo East and Tsavo West, form one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, covering over 22,000 square kilometers. This vast wilderness encompasses diverse landscapes from volcanic hills and lava flows to savannah grasslands and riverine forests.
Tsavo East is famous for its large elephant herds and the striking red elephants that appear dust-bathed in the park's distinctive red soil. The Galana River flows through the park, creating excellent wildlife viewing opportunities at waterholes.
Tsavo West offers more varied terrain with volcanic features like the Shetani Lava Flow and the magnificent Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear water attracts hippos and crocodiles. The park is also home to the scenic Ngulia Hills and excellent bird watching opportunities.
